This episode framed Fe vs. Fi, Te vs. Ti so well. “Actionable” vs “Importing information for the heck of it & to sit on” is one of those dichotomies I think makes so much sense for a quick rule-of-thumb.
Am in a very similar boat and have been for years. Others identify me as INFJ consistently. Others emotions are actionable (for reasons similar to the ones you outlined) AND data is actionable. Skill is equal in both. Here’s the difference for me, I take action on others emotions responsively and for the most part, I’m annoyed and drained by it. Real world data, I’m scanning for it proactively and feel energised by it. Therefore preference is INTJ in and of itself, real world use cases is a contextual flip flop.
